SOUTH BEND — South Bend Heritage’s 32nd annual “Middle School Exhibit” continues through April 23 at the Colfax Campus Gallery, 914 Lincoln Way W.
More than 50 students from four South Bend Community School Corporation middle schools have artwork on display.
In addition to the student artwork, a special exhibit of 1,000 paper cranes also is on display. This project is a collaboration between Dickinson Fine Arts Academy art teachers Lisa Kowalski and Laura Andujar and reading teacher Sandy Campbell, who is currently teaching the novel “Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes” to students.
Although the gallery is now open to the public, the “Middle School Art Show” reception has been canceled because of COVID-19. The Colfax Gallery has created a virtual gallery and video tour that showcases the works in the exhibit.
