Buying a home is one of life’s biggest decisions and financial investments. It can be intimidating for anyone. South Bend Heritage offers both renovated historic homes and new construction homes for sale. 

Our Home Ownership Program is supported in part with the assistance of the City of South Bend Community Development Program through funds made available by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development under Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1977.

All homes and lot sales are subject to income eligibility. See below for Income Guidelines for all of our home ownership opportunities. 

PURCHASING A HOME

Homeownership Qualifications

  • Meet income guidelines for each property. 
  • Do not own a home now (or three years prior) to date of application.
  • Plan to occupy property as your primary residence.
  • Be able to secure a mortgage.
  • Complete a Homeownership Education Program.
    • An online homeownership education class is available through SBH for $99. Click here for more information. SBH does not offer in person homeownership education or counseling at this time.
