South Bend Heritage Foundation has created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy. The following discloses the information gathering and dissemination practices for this Web page: www.sbheritage.org (the site).

Information Automatically Logged

The server collects the IP address, date, time, page accessed, browser type, and the referring page if present. We use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our Web page. The date and time are used to track the load on the server and peak usage times. We record the browser type to monitor market penetration of various web browsers so we can better determine what Internet technologies we may utilize in the design of our pages. We use page referrer data–that is, information about the web page that pointed you to our page–to determine to what extent our page is referenced by other resources on the web. These data may be used to preserve the integrity of our computing resources.

We use cookies and similar technologies to analyze trends, administer the Site, track users’ movements around the Site, and gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. You can control the use of cookies at the individual browser level.

Personal Information

We collect information from our eNews signup page that directly links to MailChimp. The information collected is entered into a secure database and is not shared with third parties other than MailChimp for eNews purposes only. Only an email address is required to sign up for eNews. The entire MailChimp application is encrypted with SSL. MailChimp is monitored by TRUSTe and is EU SafeHarbor compliant.

Donor information is collected through the secure DonorSnap portal. This information is entered directly into the DonorSnap database with access by South Bend Heritage. Access to the data via the internet requires a Site Code, User ID, and Password. The Site Administrator for each organization controls who has access to the data, what data they can see, and how they can interact with the data. DonorSnap does not use or share any organization’s data. Only people with authorization from the Site Administrator can use the data. DonorSnap provides SSL Socketing encryption that will inhibit anyone other than a properly recognized user from gaining access to the data.

Security

In addition to the above mentioned MailChimp and DonorSnap protocols, this site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control. The Site is hosted through wpengine.com. WPEngine (and subsidiary companies WP Engine (UK) Limited and WP Engine Ireland Limited) participate in and have certified our compliance with the EU – U.S. Privacy Shield Framework and the Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework. WPEngine uses TRUSTe verification method.

The South Bend Heritage website is only accessable to SBH employees. User password information is encrypted before it is transmitted across the network.
