Over 150 people attended Family Health & Wealth Day at the Charles Martin Youth Center. Thank you to all of our community partners that were able to provide valuable information on services in our community.
“The goal of the fair was to provide families easy access to financial and health care resources that they might not have time to take advantage of given their busy lives. Ultimately, we want to help people lead healthier lives both physically and financially,” stated Marco Mariani, Executive Director of South Bend Heritage Foundation. We believe being able to partner with local organizations that are also experts in helping people is a good thing for our city.”
In addition through support from our sponsors, our Annual Soul Food Luncheon brought together over 100 individuals to hear Andy Fraizer, Executive Director of Indiana Association for Community & Economic Development discuss the necessity of the a holistic approach to Community & Economic Development.
SBHF also offered an Introduction to Financial Literacy and Bridges Out of Poverty: Getting Ahead courses to residents at our multifamily housing properties. We generated enough interest through this introduction class to hold full classes in the fall of 2012! |
